I got asked to tag along for a show in Auburn, Alabama this week to do an opening set. I didn't really know who I was opening for, just that I was doing a show with my pal DJ Max Victory. When I got on site and we got the CDJs set up, they. informed me that I was opening for none other than Imanbeck, a Kazakh DJ and record producer whose remix of Saint Jhn's "Roses" has been sitting at the top of the charts since it won a Grammy in 2021, (He became the first Grammy recipient from Kazakhstan, and the first Grammy award winner in a non-classical category from within the CIS.) Currently, Imanbeck is siting on 15,921,234 monthly listeners with Roses receiving 1,915,958,618 total streams. (Yes, that's almost 2 BILLION streams.) Needless to say, it was a fantastic night!
